The Buildings of Belfast – Architectural Heritage Tour
Belfast architecture is full of history and many of its buildings have had a fascinating life. Our old buildings are a physical record of our history and heritage and are a story book in themselves of how Belfast transformed from a town of insignificance to a city of vast importance. This tour incorporates historic buildings from the Georgian (1714-1837), Victorian (1837-1901) and Edwardian (1901-1910) eras to the more modern architecture of a post industrial service orientated city. You can find out so much about Belfast by just looking up and looking around at its historic buildings. They tell their own stories, not just about the individual buildings and the people who built them but also of the city at that time and about the development of the city.
Our buildings speak individually and collectively of our incredible journey and heritage – they are a part of us as much as we are a part of them.
