The Buildings of Belfast – Architectural Heritage Tour

Belfast architecture is full of history and many of its buildings have had a fascinating life. 

Our old buildings are a physical record of our history are a story books of how Belfast transformed from a town of relative insignificance to a city of vast importance by the start of the 20th century. This tour incorporates historic buildings from the different eras Georgian (1714-1837), Victorian (1837-1901) and Edwardian (1901-1910) to the more modern transformational architecture.  You can find out so much about Belfast by just looking up and looking around at its historic buildings. They tell their own stories, not just about the individual buildings and the people who built them but also of the city at that time and about the development of the city.

Our buildings speak individually and collectively of our incredible journey and heritage – they are a part of us as much as we are a part of them. The tour also highlights how some of Belfast’s beautiful historic buildings have been repurposed in modern hotels and other hospitality establishments thus preserving the city’s Victorian character
